AP Drawing 2023-2024

Sustained Investigation:
Varnam, the crowning centerpiece of a Bharathanatyam repertoire. A representation of all dance can be, alternating lyrical stanzas and rhythmic sequences. While learning and practicing I notice my portrayal of seemingly opposing concepts simultaneously: stillness/movement, physical/emotional, imagination/reality that culminate in performance. How has learning the varnam helped me make these connections within this dynamic interplay of paradoxical concepts? How do they influence each other? Focusing on juxtaposition, I wish to explore the capacity of motionless art to convey this complexity.
